Shawn Lott is a 200-Hour RYT graduate of BODY Yoga School. She mentored with accomplished teacher Emily Branden, where she extensively refined her skills of adjusting postures and built a solid foundation in alignment and mantra. Shawn’s personal goals in the practice are to use the tools of yoga to connect the Santa Fe community. She is here to align students with their ability to share joy, build and internal fire (tapas) through Asana and gain resilience to global changes. She encourages students to build a strong physical core and energetic core of compassion for themselves and one another. At the heart of her teachings are the ideas that mantra and opening up the voice can release stagnant Prana. At the root of her teachings are Svadhyaya, or self examination, and at the head of her teachings is celebrating the path. Shawn will be teaching a Bhakti Flow Yoga class at 12 pm on August 27th in The Railyard Park.

Mushroom Mama Tinctures and Teas
Many SantaFeans know Harmony West as an early childhood teacher and the founder of Magical Child Playschool but she’s also a lifelong lover and student of healthy eating and living. Harmony hails from Massachusetts where she was a yoga teacher in her early 20’s. She met her husband, Bill when they worked at Erewhon Natural Foods in Boston in the 70’s. They migrated to Santa Fe where they raised their three children on organic veggies and grains. They knew that strong food grew strong babies and along the way they birthed Margaret’s Mochi, (a Japanese pounded sweet rice food) distributing this food in the southwestern US.
Fast forward two decades to Harmony’s study of Advanced Food Healing with Jeff Primack. During this time, she discovered the healing power of medicinal mushrooms and mycelium. She learned that mushrooms are powerful allies that provide us with immune-boosting phyto-chemicals that strengthen all who ingest them. She began alchemizing mushroom teas, sharing them with friends and family who loved them as much as she did. Mushroom Mama currently markets mushroom teas at several Santa Fe restaurants and retail outlets.
